SHENZHEN, China – 17th September 2026 – Wondershare today announced an expanded Camera video recovery workflow in Recoverit for Windows and Mac. Available September 14, the update is designed to help users locate scanned footage by entering remembered details, including scenes, camera angles, or spoken lines, when filenames are unknown.
The capability operates within the recovery software’s existing desktop process for scanning camera memory cards, previewing detected clips, and restoring selected files to separate storage.
“Creators often remember what happened in a missing clip but not the filename assigned by the camera,” said Tianyu W of Wondershare. “This update is designed to connect those remembered details with scan results while preserving the established process of previewing files and restoring them to separate storage.”
Recoverit is camera data recovery software for cards and drives connected to Windows and Mac computers. The new capability is available through its SD Card Recovery path and is not intended to recover data directly from phones.
Users can search scan results with remembered visual or spoken details, preview detected videos, and select files for restoration. Results depend on the data that remains readable on the source card. Wondershare has not published independent benchmarks, accuracy figures, or recovery-rate data for the search capability.
To limit the risk of overwriting remaining data, users should stop recording to an affected card after discovering that footage is deleted or inaccessible. Restored files should be saved to another storage device rather than the source card.
