TBILISI, Georgia – 14th August 2026 – SocialWick today released a platform-specific measurement protocol for assessing whether brands can consistently identify nano and micro-creators through discovery systems on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Facebook.

The protocol defines the records, account-level data, calculation methods, and disclosures needed to evaluate creator visibility. It does not present population-wide findings or attribute changes in reach to platform updates.
SocialWick developed the protocol after an internal scan of 2026 influencer-marketing materials identified inconsistent creator-tier definitions, market coverage, sourcing, and performance measures. Because that scan lacked a publishable source register and sample frame, SocialWick is not reporting percentages, campaign outcomes, pricing benchmarks, or algorithm-impact estimates from it.
Measurement Protocol
Assessments using the protocol should examine each platform separately and document:
- Review dates and markets covered
- Datasets, source links, and collection dates
- Sample size and account-selection criteria
- Creator-tier definitions
- Account age, audience location, and posting frequency
- Content format and publication time
- Organic and paid distribution as distinct categories
- Median reach, engagement, and audience growth
- Engagement-rate denominator and calculation method
- Material platform announcements during the review period
- Data gaps, statistical limitations, and potential conflicts of interest
For this protocol, a nano-creator has 1,000 to 10,000 followers. Each assessment should state its definitions for micro, mid-tier, macro, and celebrity creators because classifications differ among platforms, agencies, and research providers.
Analysis Requirements
Reach and engagement should be measured over a disclosed period using comparable account groups and content formats. Median results should be reported alongside sample sizes and distribution ranges so that unusually large accounts or posts do not distort the findings.
Any analysis of a platform change should identify the platform, link to official documentation, and compare account-level results from periods before and after the documented change. The analysis should account for content type, posting frequency, audience location, seasonality, account growth, and paid promotion.
Pricing should be reported only when the underlying records identify the platform, market, content format, campaign scope, usage rights, and calculation method. Figures lacking that context should be excluded.
“The relevant question is whether demand for smaller creators is matched by measurable visibility in platform discovery systems,” said Tracey Fletcher, Content Manager at SocialWick. “A credible answer requires disclosed sources, consistent definitions, account-level evidence, and a clear distinction between observed patterns and causal conclusions.”
Evidence Status
This announcement introduces a measurement protocol rather than an empirical study. SocialWick has not used its internal scan to make claims about the creator population, campaign performance, compensation, or the effects of any platform update.
Future reports based on the protocol should include a source register, anonymized account-selection rules, calculation notes, and enough documentation for an independent reviewer to assess the results.
Commercial Disclosure
SocialWick provides paid social media services and has a commercial interest in creator visibility and platform engagement. The protocol and related observations should be considered in that context and should not be treated as independent academic research.
