NEW YORK, NY — September 4, 2026 — Liberty Home Guard today published a checklist to help current and prospective customers locate and review air-conditioning provisions in the service agreement issued for their plan and jurisdiction.
The publication is an explanatory resource only. It does not amend any service agreement, expand or reduce coverage, establish a new benefit, or change any customer obligation. No plan, customer, or jurisdiction receives revised terms as a result of this announcement.
What Changed on September 4
Before September 4, issued service agreements controlled all air-conditioning service requests. That remains unchanged.
The only update is the publication of a review checklist covering contract provisions commonly relevant to an air-conditioning request. September 4 is the checklist’s publication date, not an effective date for amended coverage.
The checklist does not create or announce:
- A universal entitlement covering two air-conditioning systems
- Replacement based solely on equipment age
- A universal SEER requirement
- A standard air-conditioning coverage cap
- A standard service-call fee or waiting period
- Automatic coverage for installation-related work
- A new depreciation or cash-in-lieu formula
Where Customers Can Find Controlling Terms
The controlling document is the service agreement delivered at enrollment, together with its declarations, endorsements, amendments, and state-specific notices. Customers should confirm the document’s version and effective date rather than rely on a general plan description.
Available plan information and service-agreement materials can be reviewed through the Liberty Home Guard website. If online materials and an issued agreement differ, the issued agreement and applicable amendments control.
Exact amounts and restrictions are not stated as release-wide figures because this announcement does not establish uniform terms. Customers should locate the following entries in their issued documents:
- Air-conditioning coverage limit
- Service-call fee
- Waiting period
- Number of eligible systems
- Capacity and configuration restrictions
- Covered components
- Maintenance requirements
- Pre-existing-condition provisions
- Repair and replacement procedures
- Efficiency and code requirements
- Depreciation or cash-in-lieu provisions, if applicable
- Installation-work exclusions or allowances
- State-specific changes
Service-Request Review
When reporting an air-conditioning issue, customers should retain the service-request record and technician documentation. Any repair, replacement, payment, or other resolution remains subject to the applicable agreement’s coverage language, limits, and exclusions.
A determination involving covered equipment does not by itself establish that related electrical work, refrigerant-line changes, duct alterations, permits, code work, equipment pads, or structural modifications are included. Responsibility for those items must be confirmed in the issued agreement.
Customer Checklist
Customers reviewing installed equipment against their contract should record:
- Manufacturer and model
- System configuration and cooling capacity
- Approximate installation date
- Number of installed systems
- Efficiency rating
- Ducted or ductless design
- Operating condition when coverage began
- Maintenance history and prior major repairs
- Selected plan
- Agreement version and effective date
- Applicable limits, fees, and waiting period
- Relevant state amendments
- Potential responsibility for excluded installation work
Coverage notice: This publication explains how to locate applicable terms; it does not quote or replace any customer’s complete contract. Coverage, limits, fees, waiting periods, eligibility standards, exclusions, and customer responsibilities are determined only by the issued service agreement and applicable amendments.
