GS-JJ Launches Expanded Edge-Crafting Program for Custom Challenge Coins

Program adds defined edge patterns and a documented sample-approval process for commemorative coins and tokens.

LOS ANGELES, California — September 14, 2026 — GS-JJ today launched an expanded edge-crafting program for custom challenge coins, introducing additional production specifications and a staged review process for organizations and creators developing commemorative coins and tokens.

Effective September 15, the program combines diamond cutting, mechanical detailing and stamping. Project specifications will identify the selected edge treatment and account for coin dimensions, materials, plating and face artwork.

Edge Treatments

Available treatments include:

  • Diamond-cut patterns: Cross-cut, beveled and sunburst patterns created with grinding equipment.
  • Mechanical textures: Chain, bike-chain and heavy-chain patterns formed with production equipment.
  • Specialized contours: Standard, blade and bezel profiles produced through automated and stamping processes.

Customers may choose the edge based on design requirements and compatibility with the rest of the coin. Availability will be determined during a preproduction review of each project’s dimensions, materials, plating and artwork.

“This launch formalizes edge selection as a documented part of our production review,” said Karen Linda, a brand spokesperson for GS-JJ. “Before manufacturing begins, the project team will assess whether the requested pattern or contour is compatible with the coin’s dimensions, material, plating and face design.”

Sample Review Before Production

Each project will follow a staged approval process:

  • GS-JJ produces a sample based on the approved specifications.
  • Sales and quality-inspection teams compare the sample with those specifications.
  • The client receives high-resolution photographs and video of the sample.
  • Larger-volume production begins after the client approves the sample.

The review covers pattern alignment, contour definition and consistency. If the requested treatment is not compatible with other specifications, the edge design must be revised before production authorization.
