Sutton Studio lets small and mid-market operations teams create custom tools on their live data without hiring deveopers or waiting on a vendor
Atlanta, Georgia – 29th September 2026 – Large manufacturers can afford to customize their ERP systems. Smaller ones usually can’t – so they run pieces of the business in spreadsheets, or make do with software that doesn’t quite fit the way they work.
Sutton, the operations platform formerly known as Digit, is pitching a different option to that mid-market. Renamed Sutton (heysutton.com), the company has launched Sutton Studio, which lets a team describe a tool it needs and have it built on its live operational data, without a custom-software project or a wait in the vendor’s queue. Existing customers keep their accounts and data through the transition, the company says.
Sutton runs sales, operations, purchasing and shipping in one system, covering inventory, manufacturing and MRP, production scheduling, order management, warehouse and shop-floor operations, multi-location inventory, traceability, bills of materials and fulfillment. Studio adds a way to build around the specifics a smaller operation can’t otherwise justify paying a developer for. Company-cited examples include production-floor dashboards, delivery boards split by fulfillment source, supplier scorecards, receiving inspection forms and yield trackers – each built for one company’s particular process.
“I type out my problem, summarize what I’d like to see, and everything is created for me. It’s like an engineer building a custom app for you in a couple of minutes,” said Andrew Pedersen of Pac Basic.
The company frames the goal as narrowing the gap between identifying an operational need and having software that supports it — a gap that, for smaller businesses, has often meant simply going without. “We built the layer an operator can create and edit themselves, using their business’s data and workflows within Sutton,” said co-founder and CEO Dan Koukol, who ran a plastic injection molding company before starting the business.
Sutton was founded in 2021 by Koukol, Simon Kronenberg and Alena Dagneau, and says it serves customers across North America and Europe.
