TripoSIM, the travel eSIM from Dubai's BroadNet Technologies, includes TripoSIM Shield free with every data plan: DNS-level ad and tracker blocking plus PIN-protected parental controls that work in 200+ destinations with no app to install.

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates, November 2026 — TripoSIM, the travel eSIM from Dubai telecom company BroadNet Technologies LLC, includes TripoSIM Shield free with every data plan: ad, tracker and malicious-site blocking that works across every app on the phone, plus parental controls that let parents decide what their children can open while the family is abroad. Both are free with any TripoSIM plan, with no app to install.

The feature is aimed at a familiar problem for families travelling over the year-end holidays. Children’s phones join new networks in new countries, often with less supervision than at home, and installing filtering apps on every device before a trip takes time. Shield works at the network address (DNS) level instead, so one setting covers browsers and apps alike.

How the parental controls work

Parents choose one of two filter levels and secure it with a 6-digit PIN that only they know, so a child cannot switch the filter off or change its level:

  • Kids Safe blocks adult content, gambling, violence, social media, dating, drugs and gaming sites.
  • Teen Friendly blocks adult content, gambling, dating and drugs, while allowing social media and gaming.

Setup takes three steps: choose a filter level, set the PIN, and install one DNS profile or hostname on the child’s device. Nothing else needs to be installed on the child’s phone, and the filter stays active in every destination where the TripoSIM eSIM connects.

Ad and tracker blocking for everyone on the plan

For adults, Shield checks each website and app request against a blocklist of more than 100,000 known ad networks, trackers and malicious domains, updated daily, and blocks matches before they reach the device. It uses DNS-over-HTTPS, a standard supported natively on iPhone and iPad (iOS 14 and later) and Android (9 and later), so no separate app is needed. An active TripoSIM eSIM is required; Shield is then turned on from the customer’s TripoSIM dashboard. Details are on the TripoSIM Shield page.

Other options for families and groups

  • Family Pack: groups of 4 to 10 travellers get 10% off when they buy the same plan together; each member receives their own eSIM QR code by email and the organiser manages everyone from one dashboard. See the Family Pack.
  • Student Discount: students get 15% off every plan after verifying a valid student email.
  • Gift an eSIM: travel data can be sent as a gift; the recipient receives the QR code by email with a personal message.
  • HomeLink: an add-on that forwards calls made to a traveller’s home number to the TripoSIM app over data, for phone numbers from 18 countries. See HomeLink.

How TripoSIM works

TripoSIM sells prepaid, data-only travel eSIMs for more than 200 destinations, with plans from $1. Customers buy a plan online, receive a QR code by email after checkout and scan it to install the eSIM; the plan’s validity starts when the eSIM first connects to a network at the destination, not at purchase or installation. Because the eSIM is data-only, the traveller’s own number stays active on their primary SIM for calls and texts. Customers can top up from their dashboard, set up automatic top-up, and reach support 24/7 in English and Arabic.

An unused eSIM can be refunded within 30 days of purchase: orders of $10 or more as TripoSIM credit or to the original card, orders from $5 to $9.99 as credit. If an eSIM could not be delivered or stopped working because of a technical issue on TripoSIM’s side, the order is refunded in full.
