Texas Counseling Center Clarifies Appointment Details and Geographic References

Service-information update explains scheduling, travel and privacy considerations for existing in-person and online appointment options

HOUSTON, Texas — October 29, 2026 — Texas Counseling Center issued a clarification addressing geographic and scheduling descriptions that could be mistaken for office listings or confirmed appointments. The update distinguishes general information from individual booking details and does not announce additional offices, providers, hours or appointment capacity.

The clarification addresses the phrases “Counseling in Katy” and “counseling in Dallas,” along with descriptions of statewide online access. Clients should not interpret these references as confirmation of a local office, an available provider or a scheduled appointment.

Geographic References Do Not Establish Office Locations

“Counseling in Katy” and “counseling in Dallas” are geographic references, not confirmation that Texas Counseling Center maintains offices in those areas. Neither phrase identifies where a particular in-person appointment will take place.

For clients arranging transportation or time away from other responsibilities, the relevant location is the one confirmed for their individual appointment—not a general geographic description.

Online Access and Appointment Availability Are Separate

The center’s October 28 announcement states:

“Online options are available to eligible clients throughout Texas. That statewide reach does not establish that every service is offered online or that every request can be accommodated.”

The distinction means that statewide online access describes geographic reach, while an individual appointment still depends on the requested service, provider availability and applicable requirements. A discussion of a possible appointment is not confirmation that it has been booked.

Details Clients Should Verify

Before making scheduling or travel arrangements, clients should confirm directly with the center:

  • Service and format: Whether the requested service is available in person or online and what requirements apply.
  • Provider availability: Whether a provider is available for the requested appointment.
  • Booking status: Whether the appointment is confirmed rather than under discussion.
  • In-person location: The location associated with the confirmed appointment.
  • Online preparation: Any device or preparation requirements, as well as access to a private setting and reliable internet connection.

Initial planning questions can focus on these logistical details without including personal information beyond what is necessary to address the request.

Other References and Organization Information

The clarification also distinguishes “Denial Journal” from appointment information. The update does not identify that term as a service, appointment format or office, and it should not be used to determine availability or location.

General organization information is available on the Texas Counseling Center website. Website descriptions provide background; they do not confirm an individual booking.
