Virtual Staging Desk Updates AI Room Design and Photo-Editing Workflows

The October 9 platform update adds task-specific example displays and preserves original photo files during standard uploads.

Virtual Staging Desk has released an update to its browser-based design and property-photo platform, adding tool-specific example displays and revising how uploaded photographs enter the editing workspace. The update was deployed on October 9, 2026, and covers the platform’s 14 public tool pages, including AI room design, virtual staging and selected-area photo editing.

The release changes the experience before a user uploads a photograph. Tool pages now present examples associated with the selected task rather than a shared empty canvas. Image workflows use the platform’s comparison component to display original and result views. After an upload, the workspace switches to the user’s photograph for the selected task.

The example displays illustrate the types of visual changes associated with each workflow. They are separate from users’ own photographs and generated results, and do not represent a guarantee of the outcome of a future request. Video examples are identified as motion illustrations rather than customer projects.

Original photographs retained during upload

The updated standard upload workflow preserves the original image file rather than automatically re-encoding it. For selected-area editing or photo enhancement that requires a smaller working image, users can choose to create a separate editing copy. The original photograph remains available in Recent photos.

This separates the uploaded source from a working copy used for a particular edit. It also makes the creation of a smaller copy an explicit user action, instead of applying the change to every uploaded photograph.

The same release adds links to all 14 public tools in the site’s public footer, providing another route between the platform’s furnishing, editing and design-preview workflows.

Design previews and property-photo tasks

The platform’s AI room design workflow uses an existing room photograph to explore furnishing and finish ideas. Separate tools address virtual staging for empty or sparsely furnished spaces, restyling occupied rooms, and previews of selected paint and flooring changes.

These are existing product capabilities presented through the updated interface. The October 9 release changes their example presentation, upload handling and navigation; it does not introduce a new image-generation model.

Generated design images remain visual proposals. They do not establish exact dimensions, furniture fit or construction feasibility. Property images require review against the original photograph, and virtual changes should be identified when images are used in listing materials under the destination platform’s requirements.

The updated pages are available through Virtual Staging Desk. Current access, credit and download conditions are listed on the platform.
